Entry Points and Opportunities
There are multiple entry points to the SHiFT experience. Attend one of our Forums, Circles, or other events led by SHiFT Members. Join SHiFT, and become part of the change you want to see. Serve on a SHiFT Committee. Or support the SHiFT mission by becoming a Sponsor or Partner.
Call for SHiFT Board Nominees

We're seeking nominations from our members for additional SHiFT board members. If you know of someone who you think would make an excellent board member candidate, we would be interested in having more information about them as well as their contact information. (Self nominations will also be accepted).
We're looking for candidates who have strong experience in the following areas:
- Those experienced in helping people make vocational transitions
- Non-Profit Legal and Finance
- Non-profit Planning and Development
- Business or Franchise Development
- Information Technology
- Marketing or PR
- Communications
- Human Resources
- People who are well-networked with private sector employers, public agencies, and non-profit managers in the community
The SHiFT nominating committee will select candidates based on their experience and strengths in the areas noted above. Selected candidates will be placed on the ballot for a vote by the board on December 1, 2009.
The Nomination Form can be used for gathering information. Please fill out and return to Linda Faust by November 15 for any person you would like to be considered, including self-nominations.

Become a SHiFT Member
As a member, you enter into a circle of people who want to move to more meaning in their lives and work.
You’ll have an opportunity to:

Become a Sponsor or Partner
SHiFT offers corporations, non-profits, and civic agencies the opportunity to align their objectives with the energetic, productive future being shaped by the baby boom generation.
As SHiFT collaborates with resource partners and/or sponsors, the sky’s the limit for new ideas and relationships. Organizations can:
• Support SHiFT growth by becoming Sponsor a Sponsor or a Partner
• Provide downsized employees with free SHiFT membership.
• Engage SHiFT members in focus groups to test new boomer products and services.
• Offer innovative employment options to boomers who offer a lifetime of highly developed personal and
professional skills.
• Develop mentor opportunities with SHiFT members.
SHiFT Committees: Personal and Professional Growth
Share your talents with others who bring a rich variety of experiences, skills, and personalities. Or start to develop new and marketable skills as you move through your personal transition.
Program Committee
The Program Committee cooordinates existing programs, such as the SHiFT Forum Series and SHiFT Circles, and facilitates the development of new ones.
In the spirit of "He or She Who Proposes ... Does", we encourage Members and non-Members alike to propose and build new programs, classes, and workshops. Contact the committee chair to present your ideas.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee:
• Collects feedback from members and prospective members.
• Develops and sustains Membership growth in accordance with SHiFT's new charter, shared
values, and mission.
Marketing & Communications Committee
The Marketing and Communications Committee seeks individuals to write for the SHiFT newsletter and website, design posters, edit Forum audio files, and work with video recordings.
If you have some experience, and are willing to learn, this is an excellent opportunity to enhance your communications skills — or add them to your skill set.

Raise revenue through corporate sponsorship, individual donors and grants.
