SHiFT Time Bank: Storing Social Capital
"Counting what people do makes people count." So says Edgar Cahn, author of the 2000 book No More Throw-Away People. Never more so than now, as SHiFT Co-Founder Jan Hively points out in her published piece on the birth of Time Banks.

The principles align with our times:
  • Reciprocity forms the base of almost all human relationships.
  • Every person in the community can contribute.
  • Work redefined includes any action that contributes to community well-being.
(NOTE: the Time Bank is now a SHiFT Members-only feature
accessible only through the new Member pages on the website.)
