Why Should I Join?

A few reasons:
  • In many cases, you'd pay money for the kinds of services you can purchase with Time Bank hours.
  • It’s a great way to post a request for a service you could use, or one you want to offer.
  • If you’re working on a SHiFT project, you can charge the Time Bank for your hours.
  • You can donate your Time Bank Hours to other people who may need them.

What Kind of Info Should I Put into My Profile?
Whatever you want others to know. Your vocational background, skills, and talents. Your interests, or things you’re passionate about. Add your photo, email address and other information, as you choose.

Will I Have a Tax Problem at the End of the Year?
SHiFT is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. But this isn't Bartering. The IRS has given a private exception ruling to the Time Bank organization acknowledging that these kinds of reciprocal exchanges will not be taxed.
