Environmental issues touch all areas of our lives. SHiFT wants to support the engagement of its members in tackling the issues to assure sustainability. The task of the Environmental Sustainability SIG is to assist anyone who wants to become more knowledgeable about the issues and/or about opportunities for meaningful work, paid or unpaid in vocations focused on sustainability.
General areas of environmental sustainability include: Global Warming; Health/Wellness; Pollution; Public Policy; Recycling; Sustainability, and Water.
The Environmental Sustainability SIG is a vehicle to support and nurture the passion that we find in our membership. The two goals for 2008 are:
- Maintain a knowledge base to support member education, communication, and passion.
- Host a minimum of four SHiFT Forums on Environmental Sustainability, at least one per quarter.
