Overview

The Marketing Committee develops strategies that tune our messages and increase SHiFT's visibility among internal and external audiences.  Promote who we are, what we do, and why it matters.  Oversee development of the SHiFT brand.

Professional and personal qualities: previous marketing experience in either the for-profit or non-profit worlds; good interpersonal skills; good written and oral communications skills.


Open Positions

►  Marketing Chair.  Coordinate all SHiFT marketing strategies and tactics. Execute SHiFT's strategic plan.  Orchestrate the activities of two subcommittees: Events and Marketing Communications.

Events Subcommittee

►  Special Event Coordinator.  In collaboration with David Buck, coordinate the invitations, planning, set-up, and operations of the May 3 event featuring Civic Ventures founder Marc Freedman and his new book The Big Shift.

► 
Forum Planner.  Participate with other committee members in the planning and development of SHiFT Forums.

Marketing Communications Subcommittee


►  Marketing Relations Manager.  Develop relationships with area media editors (newspapers, magazines, corporate publications).  Develop strategic marketing alliances with organizations whose missions parallel/complement that of SHiFT.

►  Events/Programs Writer.  Contact event presenters and program facilitators for info.  Write descriptions for publication in Twin Cities media, SHiFT newsletter, and SHiFT website.  Track results and submit monthly reports.

►  Writers.  Write stories for the SHiFT website, newsletter, and other publications
Post items to SHiFT Blog.  Develop brochures, flyers, banners, conference materials, etc.
Find and interview candidates for success stories.  Help develop the SHiFT brand.

►  Graphic Designers.  Develop brochures, flyers, banners, conference materials, etc.
Help develop the SHiFT brand.

►  Audio/Video Producer.  Record SHiFT Forums and other audio/video opportunities (ex: Success Stories). Edit files using appropriate software, and upload to website.

►  Photographers.  Provide coverage of SHiFT events (ex: Forums) for publication in newsletter and on website. 

►  Newsletter Editor.  Produce and publish the monthly SHiFT newsletter.  Need working familiarity with E-newsletter tools (i.e., Constant Contact).  Will train the right person.

►  Webmaster.  Maintain the SHiFT website.  Need working familiarity with website content management systems (i.e., Kentico).  Will train the right person.
